2000 Hunter Valley Semillon
Pale straw colour. Quite a pungent nose for a young Hunter Valley Semillon, with aromas of grapefruit, straw and a hint of lanolin. Gorgeous soothing texture on the palate, balanced by piercing citrus acid lingering on the finish. Shows very generous fruit flavours for such a young Hunter Semillon, with grapefruit, bloodied orange and peach characters all apparent. A beautiful drink now with freshly shucked oysters or a sashimi plate. Alternatively, put in a dry cellar for 5-15 years and let those wonderful toasty Hunter Semillon age characters develop.
