2002 Hunter Valley Semillon
Pale lemon colour. Quite a pungent nose for a young Hunter Semillon,
showing the classic characters for such a wine of cumquats and lemons.
The palate is fruity, but subtle and elegant. Lovely peach and apricot flavours flesh out a steely spine of lemon and grapefruit. Soft, lanolin mouth-feel, with a persistent finish of both fruit and acid. Drink now with grilled Schnapper, with a squeeze of lemon or cellar for at least 4 years. Under its screwcap, this wine should age gracefully for well over 10 years.
